Eve L. adventures in the Salty City
::FAST FOOD EDITION!!::
If you’re a Salt Lake City resident and you have not tried Moochie’s Philly Cheesesteak, you need to relinquish your SLC dining cred card. This is truly one of the best meals I’ve had in Salt Lake City, if not the entire West Coast (I haven’t had enough East Coast dining experiences nor have I had an authentic Philly Cheesesteak from Philly, so I’ll reserve that claim for later…). Pure greasy, cheesy, chewy-bread, and perfectly-seasoned beef heaven.
And if you’ve been paying attention, you’ve probably noticed I’ve developed an interest in gourmet hot dogs. I usually hate hot dogs, but we’ve got some really interesting hot dogs popping up. From Nick’s Greek’s delectable Japadawg to JohnnieBeef’s Chicago dog, and to the alleged (I haven’t tried yet; I know, I know…how do I claim SLC foodie status?) Da Hot Dog King cart’s Thai Dog in Downtown, designer hot dogs are all the rage. We also recently tried a pheasant and rattlesnake dog while in Denver that kind of kicked up our gourmet hot dog fascination. Insert Moochie Dog here.
This dog has definitely earned itself an entry in the dog show. Perfectly grilled dog, slathered in mustard, topped with pickles, cheez-whiz, pepperoni slices, grilled onion, fresh red onion, and romaine lettuce (I removed the lettuce…sorry, it was a bit too much salad on my junk food). I imagine some of Moochie’s signature jalapeño sauce would have further elevated this dog, but I’m not good with sudden increases of elevation so I let the masterpiece be.
Oh Salt Lake City, how I’ve grown to love thee more thanks to Moochies.
